Fire Hydrant Maintenance Project: FAQs

What’s the Latest?

Work is on hold until March 18th.

What’s Happening?

This month, crews have started routine maintenance on the fire hydrants in our district. We anticipate that the work will last for a few months.

Why Is This Needed?

Performing maintenance on the hydrants to ensure they are working well is critical in case they are needed in an emergency.

How Will It Affect Me?

There will be some traffic impacts on Santa Rosa, Moorpark, Upland, and Lewis Roads, but at varying times over the course of the project. Please slow down and follow any signs and / or instructions from crews.

What’s the Process?

All hydrants will be individually examined for approximately 30 minutes. During this time, you may see small amounts of water being released. This is normal.
